15 Sep LIFE’s 23rd Annual “Lady in Red” Gala

A Night at the Speakeasy
December 3, 2016

The Empress of Soul, Gladys Knight won’t be “leaving on a midnight train to Georgia” but she will nevertheless be headed down South on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, when she headlines LIFE’s 23rd Annual “Lady in Red” Gala.

And when Ms. Knight is there, she will definitely not be the “first one to say goodbye” because the evening may be “the best thing that ever happened” at The Mar-A-Lago Club in Palm Beach – at least in 2016!

Indeed, the theme of the gala is “Speakeasy” and that promises an electrifying evening filled with a little mayhem and mischief, beginning at 6 pm with cocktails and a serenade by the Palm Beach Symphony poolside, followed by dinner and entertainment.

Chairs of the gala are Lois Pope, Patrick Park, Tova Leidesdorf, and Ari Rifkin.

Corporate Sponsors include Cooper Street Cookie, Provident Jewelry, The Bristol, Tiffany & Co. and Wells Fargo Advisors.

All proceeds from the evening will benefit LIFE’s partnership with American Humane Association (AHA), the oldest organization in America for the welfare and well-being of pets and children. Ms. Pope and LIFE support such AHA initiatives as the renowned Red Star Rescue, which provides emergency services on site to animals lost and in need of treatment and temporary housing due to hurricanes, tornados and other disasters, as well as those victimized by abuse; the annual Hero Dog Awards, which honor courageous canines who serve as arson, military, law enforcement, therapy, hearing and guide dogs; and the just announced Lois Pope LIFE Center for Military Affairs, which offers an array of initiatives benefitting military families and military dogs.

Lois Pope LIFE/AHA programs in Palm Beach County include a large Pet Mobile for adoption purposes and rescue service during times of emergency.

For more information or to receive an invitation, please call 561.582.8083 or email life@life-edu.org. $750 per person and $550 for those 40 years of age and younger.
