"Wine, Women & Song" Uncorks a Spirited Evening
In support of the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial

Palm Beach, FL -- Wine enthusiasts and supporters of Leaders in Furthering Education - (LIFE) gathered at the Mar-a-Lago Club, Palm Beach on Thursday, March 11, 2010 for LIFE's Exclusive Wine Dinner and Auction, "Wine, Women & Song". Patrick Park and his fiancee Nathalie Fernandez served as Chairmen and Liz and Jeff Bateman served as Honorary Chairmen. Southern Wine & Spirits and Tiffany & Co. were corporate sponsors. The Mersentes Family and Hoffman's Chocolates were also sponsors of this highly-successful event.

The festivities began as guests were treated to wine from around the world, complimented by delectable hors d'oeuvres from each region. Lucky attendees then had the opportunity to bid in a silent auction, which included amazing wines at incredible prices. A lavish-dinner followed as well as a live auction. Dennis Foley, one of the great wine authorities of the world and Robert Wyner, LIFE board member and long-time supporter were auctioneers of the live auction which boasted the most sought after wines in the world. Guests also enjoyed live entertainment by exotic, sexy Flamenco dancers and the Ole-Ole band, courtesy of Patrick Park, and danced the night away to the hottest party band, Soul Survivors. Tiffany and Co. provided a lovely table gift of a pair of crystal champagne flutes for each couple attending the evening.

LIFE also took the opportunity of this festive evening to unveil the 2010 American Veterans Disabled for Life Silver Dollar. The coin honors veterans who became disabled for life while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

"This was truly an extraordinary evening as LIFE unveiled the American Veterans Disabled for Life Commemorative Coin," said Lois Pope, founder and president of LIFE. "The Coin honors in a unique and special way the more than 3 million living disabled Veterans and all disabled Veterans throughout America's history whose lives have been forever changed by injuries sustained while protecting us, our freedoms and our way of life. It is not a mere token, but a true symbol of respect and gratitude for their service and sacrifice from a grateful nation."

Among those in attendance for this exciting evening were Paul Pope, Amy and Andrew Beller, Hayden Hosford, Dr. Herbert Gould, Rhoda and David Chase, Henry Fong, Mary Virginia Knight, Lorrain and Malcolm Hall, Sally and Dick Robinson, Shirley and Robert Wyner, Liz and Jeff Bateman, Sunny and Leonardo Sessa, Terry and Joe Mendozza, Norma and Simon Fireman, Herme de Miro Wyman, Ari Rifkin, Susan and Dom Telesco, Veroncia and Alexis Mersentes, Elissa and Domenick Paparone, Mac Schwebel and Sy Ziv.

Also on hand for the evening was Florida Senator Dave Aronberg, chairman of military affairs and domestic security, who said "I can't think of a better cause, these veterans gave everything for all of us." Continuing, "Lois Pope is such an asset to our country!"

Proceeds from LIFE's Exclusive Wine Dinner and Auction benefit the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial which will be built in Washington, D.C. adjacent to the National Mall and in full view of the U.S. Capitol. The Memorial, funded completely through private sources, will honor the more than three million living disabled veterans and all of those throughout American history.
